View from the back porch

We start our tour on the porch bob built me (he calls it a deck)
to the right we have the fences Bob has built...and to the left my Shade garden...with the paths for the grandkids to run...and their little bench & birdbath
Plant lovers: notice the hosta next to the birdbath..it is called
"Mouse ears" it's a miniature blue


Our lot is about 1/2 an acre....I couldn't find a picture of Bob's veggie garden..it's off to the right behind the garage...tomatoes, peppers, squash & pumpkins...egg plant, pole beans & cukes...basil & chives...carrots letuce....yum!
Lots of ratatuille & salsa coming!!! The boys love helping Grandpa!!!










No trip to our yard would be complete without a visit with Stella..our wonderful neighbor who can always be found at the fence...ready to talk!!!!

SANDERS HOT FUDGE

For Mother's Day I gave my Mom a trip to Sanders for a Hot Fudge Sundae..mmmm-mmmmmm
The Sundae was good....the company was great! I Love My Mom.

Homes of the neither rich nor famous

I had a request for some pics of our home...that got me thinking about our first home...so here she is...the front & view out the door..you may have seen this...it's on Hayes just north of 17 mile...although it has changed quite a little bit in 30 years

This was our room...then later the boys took it over...bob built a window seat & shelves...then their bunk beds.... and we moved upstairs (4 steps) to be near the "new baby", Sarah....

Nate & Family are vsiting the other half of their family in Maryland....
So I find myself looking at their pictures a lot more...cuz I miss them!

ZIA!

January 6th...Sarah becomes an aunt..and is named "Zia" (Italian for aunt)
She is an amazing auntie...and able to get them to sleep alll by herself...YAY!!!
They adore her...AS DO WE ALL!!!!!!!

Sarah migrated to SEU in Lakeland Florida for 4 years...
New places,new friends,new accomplishments!a degree in Business/Sport Management

Being from "Detroit" gave her lots of street cred....and when she took the court, the fans yelled "DEEEEEEEEtroit VOlleyball"

Named: Female Athlete of the Year 08 & Players Choice 08!!!

High School...was almost....alll about sports.
Basketball....volleyball.....Softball....
captain of all...honors & awards...but we always laughed because she never seemed to get her picture in the paper...sometimes it would be her arm or leg, one time there was a face shot...and they labeled her as emily krause..LOL


Then...this shot published in a west side paper...which we would never have known about except that my best friend's neice, recognized Sarah from all those family gatherings, and brought us this picture & article!!! Thanks Erin!
