This time of year, newscasters love to do "man on the street' interviews and ask people what christmas means to them. I find it interesting. Some say it's family, some say tradition, or giving or charity...and certainly all those things surround Christmas...and we know, it's a celebration of Jesus Christ's birth. Now how we celebrate that varies, and in my life it has taken many turns and changes. When I was young it meant waking up to presents! Later it meant we gathered with family...grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins...Each year brings about more changes and some are hard to accept, while others are joyous! We rejoiced when our numbers grew to include spouses and children of our own- then our children's spouses and their kids...and we mourned the lost of loved ones lost, however temporary that is, whether it's this year only or till we meet again in Heaven. But this I know, that Christmas celebrates that Jesus came for me. He wants to be with me, to have fellowship with me, and to take me where he goes to prepare a place for me. He invites me to come and live with him forever. I am loved. That is what christmas means to me. I am loved.

Gone Fishing....
We were blessed to have a couple days with our guys, and we took them up to "Uncle Jimmy's" for a day of fishing...and what day...they caught about 20 fish....and Jordan nearly got caught BY a FISH! This is extreme fishing- Aunt Deanna said she saw a bass come up out of the pond and grab a bird, and eat it!

The boys went to soccer camp this week, and Jordan asked me if i would come watch. Friday I went over and watched them practice and I got to pick them up- I am blessed to be able to see them and spend time with them... They are growing so fast, I cherish every moment.

Joel Time!
We went to Broken Arrow to visit Joel & stephi. We did so much! Antique shopping, watching American pickers, painting, church...Church on the Move's 25th Anniversary...free burgers, bouncy houses, and Bocce Ball, which us Mausies just love, so we played,,,funny thing was nobody else knew how to play! People came over and asked," what is this game? How do you plaY? We saw the bus Joel is now certified to drive, and We hit up the zooWe went to the Drive In to see Spiderman, and Dad watched Joel fire a knife he is making from an old file...We had Tea, we went pickin' at Habitat for Humanity and other odd shops. No trip with Joel is complete without a stop at an old book store. The guys went fishing, whilst the gals set up Steph's booth. and we all laughed so hard my stomache hurt as Joel recounted his experience with a certain indian man on the phone. This morning Joel blessed me by wearing his Tshirt. What a wonderful son! He always goes the extra mile to make me feel appreciated and loved! He and Steph are the most hospitable people I know! We miss them so much, already

It's was such a blessing that she wanted us to come and be a part of her special day.

Independence?
Independence day...the 4th of July
Same old holidays celebrated a new way...
This year, we were planning to leave on vacation early the next morning and
Our April has to work tomorrow early...like 3am early,( she's doing the traffic for all you folks) so, we wanted to do somthing simple and somthing early,
so she could rest and we could pack...
Dad and Nate came up with a pancake breakfast....
Well, then the power went out, and it became more lunch than brunch- blunch.
This family is nothing if not flexible!
We moved the blunch to Nate's and Dad made pancakes...
while April and Grandma did the decorating! RED, WHITE & BLUE pancakes!
A quick dip in the pool and then back to our chores....
I love my kids....Nathan, April, Sarah, Jordan, Connor, Kaeden...
and boy! can those lil guys swim...they inherited their Daddy's love of the water.
As usual, i got home and found my pictures didn't grasp the day completely...
no pics of April, Nate or I :)

Here we go again
Oh the joys of renovation... We are updating our bathroom. I have waited nearly thirty years for this job. Our bathroom had the strangest green tile, it never matched anything sold in stores.
I had forgotten how I hate the way everything gets coated with plaster dust... At least I've learned to cover some things -like my books, the piano.... I know I will love it in the end, but the worst part...is the decisions. I still hate making them.
The only thing i am sure of, is what I don't like. lol
It's great having a big strong son to help carry things like a cast iron bathtub.

How God handles Rejection

And God said, “Do you think I don’t know rejection?
Every day I go to work.
“Half the people on this planet wake up refusing to have anything to do with Me.
“I go to work anyway.
The song of Love calls to their hearts and I await their answer.”
